Training Information » POINT – Providers Obtaining Information Knowledge and Training
POINT is a specialized curriculum developed for Unlicensed child care providers (relatives and daycare aids) that receive reimbursement through DHS for children in their care.
POINT stands for Providers Obtaining Information, Knowledge and Training. This 10 hour course focuses on child development, appropriate age level expectations and activities, positive guidance and discipline, building positive partnerships with parents and using community resources. The POINT program is a series of three trainings. You must attend all three training sessions to earn the 10 hours of required Tier Two Training.

Completing 10 TIER 2 training hours makes you eligible to receive a pay rate increase.
If you complete your TIER 2 hours before December 31st, your increase will take effect in January of 2012. Rate increases only take place in January of each year.
